Self-Paced Course · RootWork Consulting
The foundation
most coaches never
received.
A self-paced professional development course built on clinical literacy, Ayurvedic grounding, and a deeply clarified understanding of scope.
The Gap
Most coaching training teaches you the method. Almost none of it builds the foundation.
The professional development market for coaches is vast. There is no shortage of certification programs, masterminds, and methodology training. What is remarkably scarce is what you actually need to do this work at depth: the clinical literacy to recognize what you are and are not seeing, the philosophical framework to understand the whole person in front of you, and the scope clarity to practice with both confidence and integrity.
Without that foundation, even skilled coaches hit limits — limits they can feel but can't quite name. The RootWork Method builds what most training programs never covered.
What You Will Learn
Ten modules. Three frameworks.
One foundation.
Three bodies of knowledge that belong together and are rarely taught together.
Clinical Literacy
Understand the nervous system, common mental health presentations, and the evidence base that underlies effective, ethical coaching. Know what you're seeing, know your scope, and know when and how to refer — with confidence and professional fluency.
Modules 1 – 4
Maharishi Ayurvedic Framework
Learn the foundational principles of Maharishi Ayurveda — the three doshas, the five elements, dinacharya, ritucharya, and the concept of consciousness as the ground of health. Integrate this framework into your coaching in a way that is precise, not generic.
Modules 5 – 7
Scope-Centered Practice
Develop a deeply clarified understanding of scope of practice — not as a limitation, but as a professional foundation. Know exactly what you offer, how to say it, and how to build a practice that is clinically sound and sustainably yours.
Modules 8 – 10
The Curriculum
Ten modules. One module
per week.
Foundations
What Is Clinical Literacy and Why It Matters
Define clinical literacy as it applies to coaching, understand the gap most practitioners are working in, and build the case for a clinical foundation — for your clients, your integrity, and your marketing.
The Nervous System as Common Ground
Polyvagal Theory & the Window of Tolerance
Polyvagal theory, the window of tolerance, and the autonomic nervous system — translated into accessible, coaching-relevant language. Learn to recognize dysregulation without pathologizing it.
Scope of Practice
Clarity, Ethics, and Confidence
Navigate scope boundaries in real-time client scenarios. Develop confident, warm language for scope conversations. Understand the ethical and practical rationale for scope adherence.
Recognizing What You Are Not Treating
Clinical Presentations in Coaching Contexts
Anxiety, depression, trauma, and disordered eating — what they look like in coaching contexts, how to respond appropriately, and how to make referrals that serve the client rather than ending the relationship.
Introduction to Maharishi Ayurveda
Philosophy, Elements & Consciousness
The philosophical and historical foundations of Maharishi Ayurveda. The five elements, consciousness as the ground of health, and the integrative lens that changes how you understand every client.
The Doshas in Practice
Vata, Pitta & Kapha Applied to Coaching
Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — in depth, with direct coaching implications. Learn to recognize constitutional tendencies and current imbalances in your clients and apply this understanding to personalized coaching support.
Ayurvedic Lifestyle Integration
Dinacharya, Ritucharya & Agni
Dinacharya, ritucharya, agni, and the bridge between Ayurvedic practice and nervous system regulation. Practical, coaching-appropriate tools for supporting sustainable daily and seasonal rhythms.
Bridging Clinical and Ayurvedic Frameworks
Integration Without Dilution
Hold both lenses simultaneously — without diluting either. Case examples and integration principles for the coach who is committed to working at the full depth of their training.
Working Alongside Clinical Providers
Referral, Collaboration & Professional Fluency
Build collaborative relationships with therapists, physicians, and integrative practitioners. Navigate referrals, releases of information, and professional communication with fluency and confidence.
Building a Foundation Others Can See
Voice, Bio & Marketing with Integrity
Turn depth into language. Develop the bio, practice description, and marketing voice that accurately reflects the quality and integrity of your work — and attracts clients who are ready for it.

Your Instructor
Built by a clinician.
Designed for coaches.
Dr. Danielle Hurt, PsyD, LPCC is the founder of RootWork Consulting — a professional development consultancy built specifically for health, wellness, and life coaches who are ready to go deeper.
With over fifteen years of experience at the intersection of licensed clinical practice, doctoral-level organizational leadership, and Maharishi Ayurvedic philosophy, Dr. Hurt brings a convergence of expertise that exists almost nowhere else in the professional development market for coaches.
Her approach is not about redirecting what coaches have already built. It is about building the foundation underneath it — the clinical precision, the philosophical grounding, and the scope-centered clarity that makes practice more effective, more ethical, and more sustainably your own.
Questions
Common
questions.
Is this course accredited for continuing education hours?+
RootWork Consulting is not currently an ICF-accredited continuing education provider. A Certificate of Completion is issued upon finishing all modules and may be included in your professional credentials or portfolio. We are actively exploring ICF CCE accreditation for future cohorts.
Do I need a clinical background to take this course?+
No. This course is specifically designed for coaches — not clinicians. Clinical literacy, as taught here, means knowing enough to practice with integrity and recognize what you are not trained to treat. No prior clinical training is required or assumed.
Is this course appropriate for newer coaches or only experienced practitioners?+
Both. The content is structured to meet coaches at every stage. Newer coaches will gain a foundation that most practitioners spend years building informally. Experienced coaches will find clarification, depth, and language for expertise they may already sense but haven't had a framework to articulate.
What is Maharishi Ayurveda, and how is it different from other Ayurvedic frameworks?+
Maharishi Ayurveda is the authentic restoration of the classical Ayurvedic tradition, brought forward by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It emphasizes the primacy of consciousness in all health — the understanding that pure awareness is the foundation from which all wellbeing arises. This course introduces Maharishi Ayurveda as an integrative coaching framework — not as a clinical or medical system.
What if I want ongoing support after completing the course?+
Individual supervision and mentorship with Dr. Hurt is available starting at $200/month. Upon completing the course, you may enroll in ongoing mentorship at any time. Details are available on the RootWork Consulting services page.
What is the refund policy?+
Full refunds are available within 7 days of enrollment if fewer than 3 modules have been accessed. After 7 days or upon accessing 3 or more modules, all sales are final.
